Move a qBittorrent Profile to qBittorrent-nox on Linux

See also: Move an Existing qBittorrent Profile into a Profile Directory (Windows) — a different (but related) migration.

In this example, the named profile is under C:\MAM. Replace with your own folder name.

  • Shut down qBittorrent on Windows.
  • Create a new qBittorrent-nox LXC via Proxmox community scripts.
  • Zip the entire C:\MAM folder and copy the ZIP somewhere accessible.
  • SSH to the qBittorrent-nox LXC.

Stop the service:

systemctl stop qbittorrent-nox

Unzip /MAM/qBittorrent/data/** into ~/.local/share/qBittorrent/. This will produce 4 folders: BT_backup, GeoDB, logs, rss.

Unzip /MAM/qBittorrent/config/** into ~/.config/qBittorrent/. This will produce categories.json, qBittorrent.ini, etc.

Edit ~/.config/qBittorrent/qBittorrent.ini to replace directory locations — in the [BitTorrent] section:

Session\TorrentExportDirectory=C:/MAM/TorrentFiles
Session\DefaultSavePath=C:/MAM/Downloads
Session\TempPath=C:/MAM/Downloads/! Incomplete
